I recently bought this variety pack and I could not be happier. Unfortunately, I find myself constantly making coffee using these packs. All three flavors are very tasty and I will be buying more.

Not everyone likes everything, but if you like Starbucks, then you will most certainly love these and you can get a whole box for what you pay for one Starbuck's drink. These are really great to have on hand for company and you do not need a Senseo or any special coffee maker to enjoy these. Just add to any cup of coffee.

I find I like to add the contents of the pack in an empty cup and then place it under my Senseo and stir as the coffee is filling the cup. I just had one and as I write these words, I find myself wanting another one--the flavors are that good!

I always use a melitta cup for making any espresso coffee and this one is just delicious. I checked my ph strip and it does not register as acid. It doesn't bother my stomach at all and I am super sensitive to anything acid. American coffee I have a hard time tolerating; the Italian and Kenya coffees that are dark roast espresso are thought by some people via their processing techniques and quality to be alkaline. It makes the American coffee look like junk for how the body responds and the taste. Once you have had this coffee you won't want American coffee anymore as it is not bitter.

In case anyone is wondering what a melitta cup is, it is a cone made from plastic or ceramic (mine is ceramic) and it has a hole at the bottom. I adjust the coffee filter to fit it and then put the espress coffee in it and then pour my hot water from the tea kettle into it. I add a little nut milk into the coffee and I am ready to enjoy a wonderful taste. It beats dealing with a coffee maker any day. Each person in the family can have their own melitta cup as it is so quick to do.

I found a brick of Lavazza Crema e Gusto at a local shop some months ago, and tried it in my stovetop espresso maker. For some reason I thought the grind was what I needed (it *does* have a picture of a stovetop machine on it!) but the grind is really very fine, more like what a professional-type machine needs.

But this works even in my Bialetti Brikka 4-Cup Stovetop Percolator stovetop machine, and generates a beautiful crema. The Brikka really wants a slightly coarser grind, so I have to be *very* careful to put in the coffee with a light touch, and not to pack it down even a tiny bit.

The flavor, as others have written, is very rich without being too dark-roasted, with lovely chocolatey notes. Bitterness can come if I overfill the maker so that the coffee is packed too hard, which causes boiling and burning. So care must be taken when using a stovetop maker. But it's truly worth it, because it gives such delicious coffee.

I received my order of four (4) packs of this coffee yesterday and today, upon opening the bricks that were shrink-wrapped together, I noticed that one of the individual packages was clearly not vacuum sealed. Sure enough, at the bottom of the package, I could see a slice from what was most likely a straight razor used to open a box. Hmm...out with that package. (I should add that the shipping box was was in perfect condition.)

Understandably, this type of thing can happen with packaging / stocking. Still, I'm a little disappointed that on my first order, only 3 out of 4 packages are any good.

We just got this yesterday and had some this morning. It is probably one of the best coffees I have ever tasted! It is perfectly balanced with a nice round taste and feel that is full bodied. No acidity at all, just creamy goodness. There is a wonderful taste nuance involved that is characteristic of a fine wine. I can not believe the price for this! I spent for 2 pounds less than what I have paid for 1 pound of other coffees and enjoyed this every bit as much or more. A definite keeper for my morning java.

My Italian cousin-in-law recently taught me how to make real authentic Italian espresso and cappuccino and Lavazza is her first choice over all other brands. It is so rich and smooth and I have to agree after we ran out of Lavazza and went hunting unsuccessfully for more and ended up buying two other brands. No comparison as there was such a difference in taste. I threw out the other two cans and went hunting on the internet that night and found it the cheapest on Amazon (my favorite place to shop on the Internet). Anyway, signed up for the subscription service and LOVE it. Just about when I was on my last can of Lavazza, here comes an e-mail notifying me that Amazon was about to make another shipment. Perfect timing. Love, love, love this service. By the way, my husband is a die-hard Starbucks fan (very strong coffee) and likes his best as a blend of Lavazza and Starbucks.

I really hoped I would like this espresso, the main reason being that I just can't take the financial assault that Illy Medium Roast puts on my monthly budget. With that being said, I found this to have a cardboard-like, slightly bitter taste. I was hoping to reproduce the rich, nutty taste that I get from a pull of Illy. Perhaps there is another Lavazza product which will fare better. I use a Saeco Classico, so if anyone has some advice, I am open to it.

It is a unique work that does an excellent job of showcasing the diversity in the drive-thru niche of the espresso business! Cool book! Great photos and fascinating description of this part of our culture.

Speaking as someone who has passion, not to mention addiction (caffeine is a drug, you know!), to coffee and espresso, I love all books and art about the culture of espresso. I even discover it intertwined in song lyrics sometimes. This is one of my favorite examples of our culture now. The pics are straightforward and artistic, and the introduction is succinct and revealing.

This book may not say as much about our culture as, say, one about Barack Obama, or the mideast crisis, or Michael Jackson (what made me think of him right now? Oh yeah, he just died.), but it is certainly a statement about the current affairs of coffee and our dependence on cars in America.

I was wondering why the book doesn't include maps, but then again, they are all over the place here, so why bother. It's more fun to just come across one yourself. Actually, I know I have driven past some of these. It's also refreshing that he didn't try to make this a comparison of coffee or give them each a rating, because let's face it, we all have our own opinion about what espresso should taste like. We ALL don't like Starbucks, for instance! Speaking of which, it is good that he didn't include anything about the green mermaid, because that company is always in the press. I like knowing about the smaller businesses and people who are plucky and on their own. This book is for them! Yay!

The short mention about sexy baristas is interesting. I am glad he mentioned the sex-presso phenomenon. I wonder sometimes why some people confuse bikini baristas with some sort of pornography. It's harmless. Come on, people! They're just swimsuits. It's no different than Sports Illustrated does each year. Anyway, there is a mention about it, a nice photo and caption, and it simply says here's part of the culture. Enough said.

I'm going to hang onto this book. I think it will be interesting to look back at in a number of years as this whole business changes and evolves.

coffee shops. I'm glad I got the 20 oz size

instead of the 12 oz one, because when you

froth your milk, the froth for a normal size

coffee drink will almost fill this pitcher.

It's stainless steel, and well constructed.

It looks like it will last a lifetime!

Being metal, the pitcher will get quite

hot during the frothing. The handle remains

comfortably cool during the frothing.

I recommend buying a frothing thermometer

with this as well, so that you know when

the milk/froth gets to proper serving

temperature.

It serves its purpose, but as I'm sure most people know, when you boil milk it can be very difficult to clean. It tends to bind to a surface, making cleaning a bit of a chore. This pitcher is no different, except for the fact that the narrow head makes it even more difficult to reach in and clean it. Boiling or hot water should do the trick if you leave it in after frothing.
